Professor Tom Boyle
Professor Tom Boyle is Director of the Learning
Technology Research Institute (LTRI) at London Metropolitan
University. He has a long history of developing and
evaluating innovative multimedia learning technology. Tom
led a major project in the development, use and evaluation
of learning objects that won an EASA (European Academic
Software Award) in 2004. He was Assistant Director, with
responsibility for pedagogy, of the UK Subject Centre for
Information and Computer Sciences from 2000-2005. Tom is
Director of the Centre
for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in Reusable
Learning Objects. This national centre involves
collaboration between three universities, London
Metropolitan University and the Universities of Cambridge
and Nottingham, to develop and evaluate high quality
learning objects across a range of subject areas.
